Re: [MAVEN-BUILD] FlexJS Framework (maven) - Build # 1129 - Still Failing

Harbs-2
The Maven build has been failing for the last 3 days. I could not figure out why. (The Ant build seems to be fine.)

Does any of the Maven folks want to take a look?

Thanks,
Harbs

Hi Harbs,

Yes I saw it but I didn't have time to proper look. My first thought is that this is some problem not related to our build. Maybe I should contact with infra. Not sure.

Does it build locally for you?  I can't get TLF to build with Maven, and
it isn't clear that it should.

Hi Alex,

I just tried and yes it's also failing for me in TLF [1]. But on Jenkins it look like it is failing at the beginning, so it something else there.

Josh Tynjala
It looks like assert.as uses CONFIG::debug and CONFIG::release. Are those
defined in the compiler options for Maven?

Hi Josh,

I thought that if we have it declared in loaded config, it should not be any problems. [1] I will try to declare it in Maven pom.

Re: [MAVEN-BUILD] FlexJS Framework (maven) - Build # 1129 - Still Failing

Alex Harui-2
Hi Piotr,

Which loaded config had these settings?

I was unable to define those flags in the Maven pom without changing the
BaseMojo.  I have those fixes locally, but I'm trying to understand how
this ever worked so we are more sure my proposed changes don't duplicate
something or something else is actually broken.

Thanks,

Re: [MAVEN-BUILD] FlexJS Framework (maven) - Build # 1129 - Still Failing

piotrz
Hi Alex,

I don't recall that we have used CONFIG::debug or CONFIG::release somewhere earlier. My thought that if we have ever used and it's defined in loaded config - Maven shouldn't complain.
I think in order to use it we have to put them in "additionalCompilerOptions" in pom, but maybe there is some options which I don't know. I will check later today and let you know.

<additionalCompilerOptions>-define+=CONFIG::debug,CONFIG::release</additionalCompilerOptions>

We still may need your fix.

Thanks,

Re: [MAVEN-BUILD] FlexJS Framework (maven) - Build # 1129 - Still Failing

Alex Harui-2
Hi Piotr,

These flags are only used by TLF, but TLF was building just fine for a
while.

I agree that the current failures appear unrelated, but I want to get it
to build locally in order to compare working vs not-working.

AFAICT, you can't specify more than one option in
additionalCompilerOptions.  My local changes lets you separate the list
with spaces which works for this, but would someday not work for spaces in
paths or quoted spaces, but will at least get us past that point.  But I'm
still trying to understand how TLF ever built in Maven?  Did you see it
work at one point in time?

Re: [MAVEN-BUILD] FlexJS Framework (maven) - Build # 1129 - Still Failing

piotrz
Some time ago I've prepared pom for TLF branch and it was working till today.
Additionally I thought that additionalCompilerOptions is being passed to compiler as a long string and we don't have to care about splitting anything in code.

Ok your fix will allow for many parameters and now we will be able define in additionalCompilerOptions this CONFIG::debug etc ?

Alex,

I just pushed fix for this issue, but I would love to see what you did also. Take a look into my commit where I'm adding "defines" to pom of TLF module.

Harbs,

I did changes for assert.as - could you take a look whether I didn't break any of your existing code ?

Thanks,

Issue has been fixed, but main problem is still there. If anyone do not have more idea what is happening here is what I'm going to do:

1) I will contact with infra on ChipChat and ask whether they are seeing if it is problem on their sight
If NOT
2) I will ask some people on the other projects - Which one ? If someone more experience can suggest that would be great!

Re: [MAVEN-BUILD] FlexJS Framework (maven) - Build # 1129 - Still Failing

Alex Harui-2
Hi Piotr,

This Maven build is running the distribution profile.  The command line is
something like:

mvn clean install sonar:sonar -P "build-examples,build-distribution"
-Dcom.adobe.systemIdsForWhichTheTermsOfTheAdobeLicenseAgreementAreAccepted=
3872fc1e -Dwebdriver.gecko.driver=F:\jenkins\tools\geckodriver.exe

Does that work for you?  I'm getting a failure in examples-test and trying
to figure out how to get the tests to not check for a SWF in the
MDLExample build.

Hi Alex,

It's failing for me exactly same and I think it should be fixed in class which is running those tests. I switched MDLExample to build JSFlex only. Tests running by Maven Surefire Plugin are here -> "flex-asjs\examples\examples-tests\src\main\java\org\apache\flex\flexjs\examples\tests\ExampleBuildTest.java" - I think we should distinguish based on "targets" whether tests has to be run or not.

What do you think ?

I think I have that fixed locally.  Now I am having a problem with the
integration-tests and Java version.  Once I get past that I can compare my
results against the CI server's results.
